Richard & Dottie Rathel
- Owners

Richard is a Marion County native. He spent more than 20 years in all aspects of the Pest Control industry. He’s worked with Fellowship of Companies for Christ International and served as a Chairman for the C12 Group. Richard has served on the board of several nonprofits and other companies. He and his wife Dottie acquired Face the Day 15 years ago and Tuscany Salon Spa in The Villages in 2022. Dottie has a passion for her family, people and for life. With a desire to help people, Dottie worked with multiple nonprofits. She is also a recent Breast Cancer survivor. They have been married for 43 years, have 2 adult children and grandchildren from the ages of 2 to 17. They love people and believe every life is unique and valuable and each one worth nurturing. Their hope is to serve others through the Spa and Salon world in a way that it not only makes a difference for only six weeks but that it will matter in a hundred years or even eternity. They love building teams and relationships that use their God given talents and abilities to enrich others. Richard and Dottie love what they do and who they do it for, you!

Nickie Collinsworth
- Master Stylist

I have experience in customizing color and cuts since 2006. My happy place is wowing my guests with highlights, balayage, and dimensional colors. No boring hair in my chair! I joined the Face the Day family almost 9 years ago. I adore Aveda and its products because they focus on true health and wellness along with being plant-derived and their commitment to cruelty-free practices. I love seeing our guests leave my chair looking fresh and feeling pampered.

I’m proud to have been recognized for the past four years in the Ocala Magazine, Better than the Best and winning three years in a row, 2022, 2023, and 2024 as Best Stylist in Ocala and one of the top three Barbers in 2024.

Jamie Lawson

I began my career at the Aveda Institute in St. Petersburg in 2006, and for nearly two decades, I’ve been deeply immersed in the Aveda world. What draws me to Aveda is not only their commitment to sustainability and education but also their strong sense of community and giving back. Aveda’s culture aligns with my values, and I take immense pride in being a part of it. I specialize in creating dimensional color, precision cutting, and empowering my guests with the knowledge and techniques to recreate their signature look at home. My passion lies in delivering exceptional results while fostering a deep connection with each guest.

Rachel Bassett
- Senior Stylist

After entering the hair industry in 2014, I developed a love for customizing color and haircuts for each of my guests. I take pride in my work whether it’s balayage, highlighting, color, or a haircut, I do my absolute best to make sure my guests leave looking and feeling amazing!

I love that Aveda is naturally derived and has a line of products for all hair needs. This allows me to cater to all guests with the best care for their specific hair type. Achieving their hair goals truly brings out the joy and passion I have in my career.

Sydney Dahl

In 2013, I started my educational journey. I took my career to the next level with in-detail classes in including color theory, formulation, precision cutting, and specialized techniques. My passion lies in transforming all hair and bringing out its natural beauty. A special affection goes out to my curly hair guests, men’s haircuts, and beard trims. Nothing brings me more joy than seeing my guests light up about the true beauty they see in their reflection.

Reagan Garcia

I completed my education at the Aveda Institute in 2018. Choosing the Aveda school was an easy decision as I found myself surrounded by loving, caring professionals committed to Aveda’s mission of top-quality products, great teaching techniques, while being conscious about the environment, vegan and cruelty-free.

My heart lies in catering to blondes. I specialize in lived-in balayage, color transformations, and makeup.

Megan Elliott

I’ve been a passionate stylist since 2020, dedicated to transforming looks and boosting confidence through personalized, thoughtful care. Drawn to creativity and natural products, I found my home with Aveda and haven’t looked back.

Originally from the Chicago area, I’m now proud to be growing my craft in Ocala, Florida. I focus on truly listening to each guest, ensuring they feel seen, valued, and confident when they leave the salon.

Olivia Fuentes
- Massage Therapist

I completed my studies at MTC in Ocala in December 2015. I find great satisfaction in helping people relax and improve their well-being through therapeutic massage, addressing specific issues in their bodies. I specialize in deep tissue massages.

For the past three years I have been nominated for Better than the Best in the Ocala Magazine, winning best massage therapist in 2024. Aveda holds a special place in my heart due to its use of plant-based ingredients. The Face the Day family is something I truly cherish and love.

Beth Lauer
- Massage Therapist

I became a licensed massage therapist in 1995 and have been practicing since then. I specialize in prenatal massages and reflexology. I love working with people to help improve their overall health and quality of life.

At Face the Day, every guest receives a customized service that addresses their specific needs. I have been a part of the Face The Day family for eleven years and can’t imagine being anywhere else.

Jolie Schuh
- Esthetician

Hi, I’m Jolie, an esthetician passionate about helping guests achieve radiant, healthy skin using natural and organic methods. With experience in facials, waxing, and aesthetic services, I combine traditional techniques with a holistic approach to support the skin’s overall wellness.

My philosophy centers on creating a personalized experience for each guest, nurturing both skin and spirit to support deeper self-connection. I offer a variety of treatments tailored to individual needs, with add-ons including plant peels, high-frequency, microdermabrasion, and dermaplaning, ensuring a comprehensive and rejuvenating experience.

I believe true beauty radiates from within, and it’s my mission to help you feel confident and cared for in every session.
